Position: Manager Institutional Partnerships
Location: Bangalore, India
Objective: Work with programme team and develop innovative and relevant proposals for institutional donors. Reach out and establish meaningful conversations and relationships with grant-making houses in India. Agree and achieve the annual institutional fundraising target.
Core responsibilities
• In conjunction with CBM programme team and advisors, the consultant will take the lead in
• Identify and build relationship with suitable institutional and foundation donors aligning with the objectives of CBM India.
• Meet with donors and develop potential collaborations aligning with mission of the donor and CBM India.
• Conduct problem analysis and validation workshops with CBM programme team, and possibly other relevant stakeholders.
• Develop a compelling, evidence-based concept note in accordance with Request for Proposal guidelines of the donor and based on the primary and secondary information gathered,
• If the concept note is selected, design a programme, including logical framework (LFA), budget, and write an integrated, evidence-based full proposal
• Full proposal shall be developed by scoping, reviewing, analysing, and integrating existing plans, projects, and areas of expertise of CBM, its partners and other stakeholders
• Based on need, conduct field visits in target areas to consult with relevant internal and external stakeholders, through Key Informant Interviews, Focus Group Discussions and Workshops
• Ensure continued and effective donors reporting is done in association with the programme and monitoring and evaluation team.
Professional profile and requirements
Experience and education
• Has in-depth understanding of designing multi-million dollar proposals.
• Brings a good understanding of issues relating to disability inclusion and knowledge on inclusive education/vocational skills and livelihoods, and health.
• Has the ability to understand risks and vulnerabilities of target communities and analysis of the current gaps of relevant stakeholders in order to ensure that the designed programme addresses unmet needs.
• Ability to integrate different experiences, methodologies, and approaches from a diverse range of stakeholders, organisations, and technical experts from multiple sectors
• Willingness and ability to travel to the field to conduct assessments and validate primary investigation report of programme team
• Preferably an advanced university degree (masters or equivalent) in development studies
• Minimum ten years of experience from leading the design, execution, and/or management of multi-sectoral community-based programmes.
• Strong programme design skills, including the capacity to prepare logical, coherent, and consistent technical documents including log-frames and budgets.
• Prior demonstrated experience from developing and writing proposals for institutional donors, in particular DFID, USAID, UN, and larger foundations
• Excellent English speaking/writing skills required; prior experience of facilitating multi-stakeholders workshops and dialogues.
