TechnoServe in India typically focuses on agricultural value chain development, social entrepreneurship and innovative partnership models to enhance livelihood opportunities for the poor. The India operations have grown at an exponential pace over the past ten years and have to its credit some path-breaking work, executed across various states in India, including North East, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka etc.

II. Position Description:

We are seeking a Practice Lead to manage a portfolio of existing programs and support our new program development efforts in India. The Practice Lead is a senior position within TechnoServe India, with the incumbent responsible for providing leadership support and guidance to existing programs. At the same time, the Practice Lead is also expected to lead efforts in developing the practice area further, incorporate best practices in program execution and provide mentorship support to program managers. The Practice lead would work with the
TechnoServe India office and the Development division at TechnoServe’s headquarters in the U.S

Specific tasks would include (but not limited to)

• Leading strategy development for TechnoServe programs in specific geographies and thematic areas
• Managing large-scale development programs within India as well as those that have an international interface.
• Ensuring timeliness and quality of deliverables for a portfolio of projects and providing leadership support to the project teams reporting to this position
• Designing and executing robust monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for the projects
• Conducting diligence and gap analysis and leading program design for emerging opportunities
• Cultivating and supporting relationships with domestic and international donors and partners

III. Required Skills & Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Business or International Development
• 15+ years of relevant experience with experience of managing end-to-end responsibilities on large scale programs funded by bi-lateral/multilateral organizations such as World Bank, ADB, DFID, GIZ, USAID etc. Experience of having led verticals/practice areas within an organizations is a plus
• Preference for prior experience as a team leader on large multi-stakeholder engagement programs
• Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to undertake field research, synthesize data and lead problem solving and program design
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Flexibility to travel extensively
