Role: Programme Manager/Asst Manager, Education

Purpose

The position is for a Programme Asst Manager/Manager as part of the Education sector team at the Foundation. The position involves responsibility for the operations and management of the Education portfolio along with the Programme Lead. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the sector and brings up to date knowledge on policies and sector knowledge, enabling investment in high quality & impactful projects and programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Working with the Programme Lead on meeting the Foundation’s annual targets for the sector
• Regular engagement and relationship building with the grantee organisations
• Experience of working with the Government and related departments to be considered favourably
• Undertaking project visits for assessment and project monitoring with the internal M&E team
• Ability to think through and develop new ideas for investment in this sector
• Assist in the effective reporting and documentation of Education grants in the Foundation’s portfolio
• Candidate must proactively participate in conferences and training programs for knowledge building

Desired profile

• Minimum 4-5 years’ work experience in the Education sector in India, either on the implementation side or in a grant management role
• Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate programme design, budgets and performance metrics
• A good network in the Education sector
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Thorough understanding of laws and regulations related to the Indian Education sector
• Candidate should be flexible to travel extensively to project locations across India
