Our 2030 ambition for children aims to achieve three global breakthroughs – to ensure that all children survive, learn and are protected. To help accelerate progress towards our 2030 goals, we aim to focus on 7 Big Ideas over the next three years which include: Reducing Under-Five Mortality due to Pneumonia, Tackling Under-nutrition – A Silent Emergency, Ensuring Access to Early Childhood Care and Education, Ending Violence Against Children, Ensuring Rights for Children in Street Situation, Empowering Adolescents as Agents of Change, Building Resilience and Climate Smart Children. We will focus our efforts on these big ideas to build long-term sustainable partnerships with various stakeholders which will help us reach over 4 million children and adolescents in 2019-2021.

Function:

Resource Mobilisation covers Institutional Partnerships, Corporate Partnerships, New Business Development, and Individual Giving. The function raises restricted and unrestricted funds for the organisation, in accordance with SC/India’s strategic priorities.

Corporate Partnerships focuses on raising funds from local, national and multinational corporations and SME’s and is responsible for fundraising along with developing, managing and strengthening these relationships. There is an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams both in India and Save the Children globally, to build partnerships to deliver the fundraising objectives.

Role Purpose:

The incumbent is responsible for achieving the fundraising targets from corporate donors, in alignment with the fundraising strategy for the team. The role focusses on gathering business and market intelligence, including donor and competitor information to identify and then pursue new funding opportunities aligned with SC’s geographic and thematic priorities (Big Ideas), along with positioning Save the Children among potential corporate donors, as the leading child rights organization in India. The role also helps deliver on account management strategies for current and new key accounts, with a focus on identifying opportunities, positioning for and responding to those, and securing funds.

Role & responsibilities:

• Organize a team to map, assess, build relationships with, and pursue new domestic donor opportunities in our states of focus and international donors as required.

• Steer/Lead and participate in proposal development processes
•  Partner actively with NBD to ensure that the Acquisition team uses available tools participates in capacity building initiatives, and contributes actively to our efforts to prioritize larger opportunities in line with our geographic and thematic (Big Idea) strategy.
• Achieve new raise targets (multi-year grants) by identifying, approaching and procuring funds from potential corporate donors.
• Map, assess, build relationships with, and pursue new domestic and international donors as required, in alignment with SC India’s resource mobilization and programmatic strategy.
• Develop presentations and customized collateral for prospective partners/donors.
• Serve as a bridge between external donors/stakeholders and internal teams (programming, operations, awards, finance etc.)
• Utilize available tools for fundraising and participate in capacity building initiatives.
• Support grant negotiations as needed – and work with Award Management to ensure orientation and handover to Operations, Program Thematic, and Finance, Awards of new grants and clear understanding of accountabilities for trouble-shooting and addressing implementation issues.
• Identify events, conferences and speaking engagements that raise the visibility of Save the Children and our work among the potential donors.
• Identify other innovative ways of fundraising particularly through cause-related marketing, workplace giving, and employee engagement partnerships.
• Readiness to work in irregular hours during events, emergency response etc. as and when required.
